Biz Club

is short for Business Club. Biz Club's goal is to build community through meaningful discussions and sharing of experience in a safe environment. During times of recession, Biz Club aims to provide small to medium size business owners an accessible and inexpensive platform for professional development and collaboration.

What’s in it for you?

Biz Club is for local entrepreneurs and business owners who are looking to learn, share their own experiences and network. Joining Biz Club will allow you to participate in discussions relevant to you and your business with other local business leaders. We strive to foster discussions and activities to help you leave each class motivated to try something new and exciting for your company, and hopefully, some new friends.

Sessions are around 1 hour and will focus on

Background

Inspired by book club meetings and the isolation we all feel during this pandemic, Biz Club seeks to build community through meaningful discussions and sharing of experience in a safe environment. Biz Club provides small to medium size business owners an accessible and inexpensive platform for professional development and collaboration. We are looking to facilitate productive sharing circles virtually and eventually in person (hopefully).

About the Organizer and Facilitator

My name is Collin Kennedy. Personally and professionally, I have so much love for Edmonton and surrounding metropolitan areas. Shout out to Fort Saskatchewan and Sherwood Park! I have worked on a number of projects as a business development specialist, a program coordinator, and an advisor. I am currently working at the municipal level; I am developing strategies and systems to maximize efficiencies and facilitate day to day operations smoothly.

I’ve seen the hard work and resiliency our business owners, independent contractors and entrepreneurs put into their products and services both as a consumer, and as a consultant. Edmonton became a flourishing and vibrant hub for so many things in a short period of time because of your courage to turn your creativity into a business. We are people who see potential and invest in it; as a result, we have great food, great products, and great attitude. Biz Club is not about cookie cutter solutions nor are we a cacophony of disagreements. We want to turn diverse voices and experiences into a harmony, a song, we can all appreciate and learn from.
